Miss Jen dreamt of owning her own dance studio at a young age. She began her dance training at the age of four at the Judyth Parks Academy of Dance Arts in Wallingford, CT. As a child she went through the typical indecisiveness over what she aspired to be as she grew up; a teacher, a biologist, a photographer. The list goes on, but there was no denying dance, the dance studio, her dance instructors, and her dance friends were integral and influential parts of her life. She quickly realized her goal was to open a dance studio, to create a place that is focused on family, community, and a love of dance.
In 2008, Miss Jen earned a BBA in Business Management from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She also completed extensive studies in ballet, modern, and jazz technique, ballet history, and dance pedagogy through the University’s Dance Department. Professionally, Miss Jen began teaching dance part-time as a junior in college. Upon graduation, she began a career in business development and marketing while continuing to teach in the evenings. Over the following eight years she became an esteemed teacher and choreographer, specializing in ballet, pointe, and contemporary.
In 2015, Miss Jen combined her passion for dance, love of teaching, and experience in business to create En L’air Studio of Dance. You will find Miss Jen acting silly and discovering her pizza slice with the Wiggles & Giggles and Tiny Twirlers as well as sharing her love for ballet and contemporary techniques with dancers ages five and up.
